… about throwing my cat out today.

I have had this cat since I was 10. He is a loving, wonderful 14 year old siamese cat who I think the world of. But enough is enough.

The reasons he needs to live outside:

-His shit smells like decomposing bodies.

-He is overweight, and this said shit is always stuck to his ass because he cannot reach it to properly clean himself. He also butt-scoots it ONTO MY SOFA.

-He gets fleas really easily because one dose of flea medicine does not easily overtake A MOTHERSHIP OF FLEAS.

-He will not eat the healthy cat food. Just won’t touch it. The $14 bag of Wellness goes uneaten while the crappy 30 pounds for $10 bag of friskies has to be left in the utility room because if it’s in the house, he will find it, and eat it. All.

-At least once a week, he shits next to the litterbox, not in it. It can be sparkling clean. It doesn’t matter. I get major anxiety in the mornings wondering if my roommate has had to endure the smell/sight of it. I have taken him to the vet to make sure this is not a health problem. It isn’t.

-My other little cat is so neat and tidy and sweet, and he’s smelly and dirty and cranky.

-He bit me really hard when I tried to give him a bath in December. It became really infected and I missed some work because of it. I still have a scar. People still ask what happened to my arm.

-He’s been an outside cat before, when we lived in the country. I live in the city now, but so far today he’s hung around the back deck behind my house. I think he will be safe back there and probably won’t stray far.

-I have two new roommates moving in next month and I just couldn’t bear to put them through the horrors of Stormy’s unsavory habits. 

So far he’s whimpered and meowed and tried to follow me back into the house, but I must be strong! This is the best thing, for the both of us. …. I think. :(
